It's now fashionable to be economical -- strange times but fortunate that we're finally seeing a backlash to conspicuous consumption

I would like to read your book sometime Jan. The rate at which things are changing is accelerating and flat-world improvements have the ability to have mass adoption at lightspeed. However, it also means the rate at which things could deteriorate could move at the same speed. It's a double-edged sword and it's hard to know which side of it will prevail. I'm betting for the good side :)

Well said Noel. I think we are on an interesting ride together. Makes me wonder how we will look back on this 20 years from now. Just have to remember that things are fluid and change is imminent. Things will get better... for most of us anyways :)

I agree completely...enough that I did a book and am doing a lot more on the shift for people who have never had to. We HAVE the "green technology" to non-electric heat/cool homes etc - we've had it for over 100 years! And Noel's right too on credit. Many people have never had to worry and now don't know what to do.

Your right. The world economics are changing. Not sure about people still saving. But they are definately not using credit. People need to stay away from that. Live below your means. We are not millionaires, yet. Forget about the marble countertops, the ceramic floors and the vaulted ceilings. It is not convenience. Put your money in what counts. Like your childrens higher education or maybe your impending retirement. I don't know about you, Ii want to retire sooner than later.
