Attitude of Gratitude

Attitude of Gratitude - ZenAcross the US, most schools are out for Spring Break this week. A lot of adults, NOT currently enrolled in school, are out of the office continuing the best tradition ever invented. So hopefully, you are one of those lucky people and you are taking a few minutes on Monday morning, following your break, to read my blog before you get ready to CHANGE the WORLD and make shit happen at work today.

Oh, what’s that? You have a case of the Mondays? And, you are in a deep depression because the best week of your year-to-date has passed?

What if I told you that you are about to LOVE your job? Well, you are because you have one, first and foremost. With the way the economy is and the unemployment rate sky high, we should all be thankful for some objectives to be held accountable to yield that paycheck.

So speaking of being thankful….really and truly feeling thankful….If you are just miserable and you absolutely hate your job, take baby steps. Everyday, when you walk into your office and when you leave, think of one thing that has to do with work that you are thankful for. You can’t forge your gratitude either or it won’t work. Gratitude is kind of like Santa, they know when you are sleeping, they know when you’re awake, and they know when you fake it! True Gratitude gets the warm and fuzzies flowing and make you feel all happy. (Not to be confused with the effects from a margarita or a glass of vino.) Love your job and she will love you back. You get what you put in. The world works in mysterious ways my friends and this notion of “the power of positive thinking” really does work. The best place to start is with gratitude because it can be so obvious. Just twice a day and be GENUINE. If you dare apply this theory to your workday, you will be as amazed as I was.
